Refugi Costabona is a mountain refuge built in 1958 with an altitude of 2168m, located under the southern slope of Costabona mountain in Girona, Spain. The shelter has a current capacity for 6 people spread over three levels of bunk beds, and a place to prepare food. It is built on a plateau, giving guests an uninterrupted view over the mountain ranges and plains of Girona. This project aims to create an extention of the existing building, maintain the structural integrity of the current structure, while applying innovative solutions to enhance its capacity.
